Rev. Irene Prince, Pastor
Irene Prince was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and was a star basketball player at Bryan High School. Reverend Irene Prince is the Senior Pastor at Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church in Emporia, Kansas. Irene also works at Lincoln Public Schools, where she is the Family and Neighborhood engagements Specialist for Community Learning Centers. Irene also works as an Adjunct Professor at Doane University and teaches a course she created in social justice and diversity, entitled, The Social and Economic Impact of Drug War. Irene is also a Chaplain and Board Member for the Lincoln Police Department, Sheriff's Office, and Fire and Rescue. Irene completed her Master of Divinity in 2021 from Chicago Theological Seminary and holds a Master's degree in Education and an undergraduate degree from Morningside University.
Irene is a cancer survivor and believes in living out the call God has placed on her life. The call to serve, fight, stand in the gap, create space, give voice, and make a seat at the table for all those who need it. No matter who they are. Irene preaches the radical and encompassing love of Jesus Christ and believes, “God is God, and I am not.”
Rev. Irene is married to Charmel, and they have a son, three foster children, and two dogs. “I love the work and study and preparation of preaching. I love to help people see God for themselves. I love teaching and helping people discover new truths and new information that helps them improve their lives.” Irene loves camping, movies, and cooking. “Laugh, love, praise God! because life is short.”
